Safety at Sea Awards 2013

HMS Belfast

The 7th annual Safety at Sea Awards took place on 13 June and was hailed a success by industry figures. The evening celebrated the role that safety managers and manufacturers play in saving and protecting life at sea across the international maritime market. A record breaking number of entries were received this year from around the globe and shortlists of three for each of the five categories were agreed.

Our guest of honour for the evening was Tim Kent, technical director of Lloyd’s Register presented certificates to all shortlisted entrants and trophies to the winners.

Nick Blackmore, managing editor of Safety at Sea magazine, said "It’s great to be able to reward these organisations for their efforts – these innovative products make a huge difference to the safety and welfare of seafarers."
