33 sought in ferry sinking

HOPES are fading today that up to 33 passengers will be found alive from the sinking of an inter-island ferry last night off Tonga in the South Pacific.
Local authorities now believe the 1972-built Princess Ashika had up to 100 people aboard when it foundered 85km northeast of the Tongan capital of Nuku-alofa at about 2300 local time last night.
