Safety at Sea International Awards 2010

Recognising standards of excellence across the international safety market

There are five Award categories:

Equipment
In association with Chemring Marine

Comet Pains Wessex

Equipment that has been brought to market for the first time, or substantially improved and re-launched, during 2009 is eligible. The winning entry will demonstrate an innovative and original development that has the potential either to reduce the risk of accidents, save or protect life at sea.

Security
Security-related developments that have been brought to market for the first time, or substantially improved and re-launched, during 2009 are eligible. The winning entry will demonstrate an innovative and original development that has the potential to improve security on board and on shore.

Systems

Software or electronic systems that have been brought to market for the first time, or substantially improved and relaunched, during 2009 are eligible. The winning entry will consist of software or electronics, either on its own or as a vital part of a larger system or piece of equipment that provides new or significantly improved functions that have a direct impact on improving safety of life at sea, via either a shore-based or on-board application.

Training
In association with UK P&I
Uk P&I Club
Training initiatives that have been implemented, brought to market or substantially improved and re-launched during 2009 are eligible. The winning entry will be a training programme or event that can demonstrate improved safe working practices or attitudes as a result of its implementation, either onshore or aboard-ship.

Management/Operations
In association with Inmarsat

The winning entry will be an initiative that demonstrates improved safe working practices or attitudes as a result of its implementation, either onshore or aboard-ship.
